Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Dimir Zombie Aristocrats combo deck led by Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver. Wilhelt provides built-in token generation and card draw, turning every nontoken Zombie death into a disposable decayed token and fresh cards. The primary game plan revolves around assembling infinite sacrifice loops using Gravecrawler, a sac outlet such as Phyrexian Altar or Ashnod's Altar, and death-trigger payoffs like Diregraf Captain, Plague Belcher, or The Meathook Massacre. A secondary win condition leverages Poppet Stitcher flipped into Poppet Factory, removing decayed from Wilhelt's tokens to generate infinite sacrifice fodder with any altar. A dense suite of black tutors and reanimation spells ensures high consistency and fast recovery from board wipes. Efficient countermagic like Fierce Guardianship and free removal like Deadly Rollick protect critical combo turns. While vulnerable to graveyard hate and artifact removal, the deck executes a compact, same-turn kill around Turn 5.
