Deck overview

This deck is a classic Dimir Faerie flash-tempo and tribal control build commanded by Alela, Cunning Conqueror. The gameplan revolves around operating almost entirely at instant speed, passing the turn with mana open to cast cheap countermagic, bounce spells, and flash creatures. Each first spell cast on an opponent's turn produces a 1/1 flying Faerie Rogue token via Alela, creating a steady stream of evasive attackers without committing sorcery-speed mana. In combat, dealing damage with Faeries goads opposing threats, protecting your life total and forcing opponents to whittle down each other's life totals. Card advantage engines such as Enduring Curiosity, Tegwyll, Duke of Splendor, and Talion, the Kindly Lord maintain a full hand of reactive interaction. Once an evasive aerial army is established, the deck pivots into a decisive win using Shadow Puppeteers to turn Faeries into 4/4 Dragons or casting Notorious Throng to double the board and take an extra turn.
