Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages Edgar, Ancient Bloodlord alongside aristocrat payoffs and the unique Empower Jace mechanic to generate steady card advantage, board presence, and life drain. Edgar converts sacrificial fodder into +1/+1 counters and menace while gaining life on death triggers, which fuels lifegain and planeswalker loyalty engines such as Way of the Mentor and Way of the Necromancer. Midgame power spikes come from Massacre Girl, Most Wanted, which turns every death trigger into direct damage to opponents, and combat enablers like Yuriko, Blade of the Mighty. The deck plays a robust interactive game with efficient creature and planeswalker removal, complemented by proactive speed bumps like Karn, Argent Defender and Thalia, the Survivor. Without fast mana or infinite combos, it wins through resilient combat attrition and incremental life drain.
