Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is led by Ozai, the Phoenix King, focusing on banking unspent red mana through firebending combat triggers to fuel massive direct-damage burn spells and lethal combat swings. Supported by an evasive Phoenix tribal recursion core, the deck continuously recycles flying attackers from the graveyard to feed sacrifice draw engines and maintain persistent board presence. Once Ozai attacks and banks six or more unspent mana, he gains flying and indestructible, transforming into a protected juggernaut. This stored mana pool accelerates explosive postcombat plays and game-ending finishers like Crackle with Power, Exsanguinate, and Chandra's Ignition. While the deck possesses explosive mid-to-late game reach and natural resilience against board wipes through self-recurring Phoenixes, it depends heavily on Ozai remaining on the battlefield to preserve banked mana. Lacking dense fast mana or hard combo lines, it operates as a focused midrange pressure deck that steadily scales into overwhelming burst damage.
