Deck overview

This mono-black control and combo deck uses Sheoldred, the Apocalypse as both an attrition engine and a life total stabilizer. The early game focuses on accelerating mana using efficient artifacts, rituals, and Cabal Coffers setups to deploy Sheoldred on Turn 3 or 4. Once on the battlefield, Sheoldred punishes opponents for taking game actions by draining 2 life for every card they draw while simultaneously restoring your life total. The deck leverages symmetrical draw and wheel effects like Dark Deal, Howling Mine, and Seizan, Perverter of Truth to accelerate damage output and disrupt opposing plans. Mid-to-late game transitions into decisive finishes using powerful black tutors to find two-card infinite drain loops (such as Exquisite Blood paired with Sanguine Bond or Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose) or resolving Peer into the Abyss to either execute an instant table kill or draw half the library into victory.
