Deck overview

This Esper lifegain control deck, helmed by Oloro, Ageless Ascetic, aims to gain incremental life from the command zone while controlling the board with removal and sweepers. Its primary win condition is assembling the Exquisite Blood loop with a drain payoff such as Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Enduring Tenacity, or Bloodthirsty Conqueror-once both pieces are on the battlefield, any life loss triggers the infinite drain. Backup wins include Felidar Sovereign (if life hits 40) and a large Serra Avatar beatdown. The deck packs a suite of premium tutors (Vampiric Tutor, Lim-Dul's Vault) and conditional tutors (Emeritus of Woe) to find combo pieces, while Oloro's passive life-gain and optional draw keep the hand full. Recursion via Phyrexian Reclamation, Sharuum the Hegemon, and Moseo, Vein's New Dean recovers key pieces after disruption.
