Deck overview

This deck uses Braids, Arisen Nightmare to turn disposable permanents into cards, life pressure, or forced sacrifices. Its best ordinary setup combines Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, Bloodghast, Reassembling Skeleton, or Gravecrawler with a sacrifice outlet. The major pressure package is Grave Pact or Dictate of Erebos, supported by death payoffs such as Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Bastion of Remembrance. Pitiless Plunderer, Pawn of Ulamog, and Sifter of Skulls convert deaths into mana, while Yawgmoth, Thran Physician and Skullclamp improve cards and selection. The deck can dominate creature boards and recover value from the graveyard, but it lacks a compact, reliably assembled kill. Noncreature engines remain active through much of the attrition plan, and the key enchantments and commander are vulnerable to ordinary removal. Its game plan is strongest in grindy tables where repeated sacrifice triggers matter more than speed.
