Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Grixis midrange strategy led by Sauron, the Dark Lord, combining the Amass Orcs and The Ring Tempts You mechanics. Early turns focus on establishing mana fixing and ramp artifacts like Arcane Signet and Mind Stone to deploy Sauron on Turn 5. Sauron punishes opponents by generating an Orc Army whenever they cast spells. Connecting with an Army or triggering the Ring tempt allows Sauron to discard depleted hands and draw four cards, creating enormous card velocity. The deck closes games by deploying nine copies of Nazgûl that grow exponentially, supported by Lord of the Nazgûl and Witch-king of Angmar. A robust interactive package of cheap counterspells and efficient sweepers like Toxic Deluge controls the board until combat finishers such as Assault on Osgiliath eliminate the table.
