Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Izzet spellslinger combo list piloted by Vadrik, Astral Archmage. The core strategy leverages Vadrik's power-based cost reduction to cast expensive draw spells, rituals, and buyback cards for single colored pips. By using efficient or free pump spells like Downhill Charge, Reckless Charge, and Blazing Shoal, Vadrik quickly reaches 4 or more power on Turn 4. From this state, the deck chains massive draw spells like Fact or Fiction and Drown in Dreams to fuel explosive storm turns. The deck closes out the game in a single turn using infinite buyback loops with Haze of Rage and Storm-Kiln Artist, Reiterate with rituals, or Underworld Breach lines into Grapeshot, Brain Freeze, or Jaya's Immolating Inferno. The list carries solid stack protection to shield its combo attempt and maintains resilient backup routes that function even if the commander is removed.
