Deck overview

This deck is a classic Temur Dragon tribal strategy centered on ramp and combat dominance. Headed by Ureni of the Unwritten, the primary game plan accelerates mana across the first four turns using cost-reducers and land-ramp spells to cast Ureni on Turn 5. Ureni immediately cheat-casts massive Dragon threats from the top eight cards of the library upon entering and attacking. Once established, synergistic damage triggers from cards like Dragon Tempest, Scourge of Valkas, and Utvara Hellkite generate explosive aerial boards that overwhelm opponents in combat by Turn 7. The deck boasts substantial threat redundancy and strong individual creature quality, meaning it can pivot into hardcasting dragons if Ureni is contained. However, it runs virtually no defensive countermagic or stax pieces, leaving its expensive board state highly exposed to timely board wipes and fast combo decks.
