Oloro Life Gain by user6619472

Format: Commander

Commander: Oloro, Ageless Ascetic

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This Esper lifegain-control deck, helmed by Oloro, Ageless Ascetic, converts a dense web of lifegain triggers into card advantage and table-wide damage. Oloro's command-zone ability banks 2 life every upkeep, and once he's on the battlefield every lifegain event can be converted into a card for {1}. The 99 is built around the same loop: Soul Warden, Aunt May, Haliya, Guided by Light, Drana's Emissary, Creeping Bloodsucker, Tithing Blade, and Authority of the Consuls generate life, which Sanguine Bond, Marauding Blight-Priest, Blood Artist, and Syr Konrad, the Grim turn into damage. A secondary mill subtheme (Hope Estheim, The Water Crystal, Space-Time Anomaly) offers an alternate route, while growing beaters like Elenda, Saint of Dusk, Amalia Benavides Aguirre, and Sephiroth, Planet's Heir close games in combat. The deck wins through incremental attrition rather than a single combo line.
