Big Dumb Snake Things by user5210966

Format: Commander

Commander: Gargos, Vicious Watcher

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a mono-green Hydra tribal deck helmed by Gargos, Vicious Watcher, who discounts every Hydra spell by {4} and fights whenever a creature you control becomes the target of a spell. The deck ramps aggressively with mana dorks, land-tutors, and Nissa, Who Shakes the World, then deploys X-cost Hydras at a steep discount. The primary win is a single massive combat turn: double +1/+1 counters with Branching Evolution, The Earth Crystal, Kalonian Hydra, and Primordial Hydra, then finish with Craterhoof Behemoth or Overwhelming Stampede. Hydra Omnivore spreads combat damage to all opponents, and Goldvein Hydra converts into treasures. It is a classic battlecruiser ramp deck - telegraphed, but with enormous board presence once it gets rolling.
