Deck overview

This mono-black deck is led by Tergrid, God of Fright, focusing on discard, forced sacrifice, and asymmetric resource denial. The primary game plan accelerates into Tergrid on Turn 4 or 5 and immediately resolves a mass discard or sacrifice effect, such as Dark Deal, Plaguecrafter, or Bottomless Pit. Because Tergrid puts every nontoken permanent card discarded or sacrificed by opponents onto your battlefield, a single mass effect steals massive board presence and lands while gutting opposing hands. Supported by stax pieces like Oppression, Painful Quandary, and Grave Pact, the deck locks opponents into top-deck mode and prevents creature development. Victory is achieved around Turn 7 by attacking with the stolen army or channeling immense mana from Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast into a lethal Torment of Hailfire.
