Deck overview

This deck is an Insect tribal and graveyard aristocrats strategy led by Grist, the Hunger Tide. Grist counts as a 1/1 Insect creature in all zones other than the battlefield, enabling seamless synergy with creature tutors, self-mill triggers, and tribal buffs. The game plan focuses on deploying Grist on Turn 3 to continuously generate 1/1 Insect tokens and mill creature cards into the graveyard. As the graveyard fills, cards like Scute Swarm, Spider Spawning, The Swarmweaver, and Aatchik, Emerald Radian expand the swarm with evasion, deathtouch, and death-drain triggers. Mana acceleration from Gaea's Cradle, Phyrexian Altar, and Insidious Roots converts wide boards into explosive mana to cast heavy reanimation spells like Bloodline Bidding. While the list features versatile removal from Grist and Assassin's Trophy, it lacks stack protection and fast mana rocks, relying instead on resilient token generation and rapid commander recast speed to overwhelm opponents by Turn 7.
