Deck overview

This deck is a mid-power Rakdos Dragon tribal deck commanded by Smaug, Wicked Worm. The game plan revolves around deploying mana rocks in the opening turns, casting Smaug on Turn 5 to generate a stockpile of Treasure tokens from opponents' artifacts, and using that mana velocity to cast massive Dragon threats on Turn 6. As Dragons are cast using Treasure mana, Smaug draws cards to keep the hand full. Threats like Utvara Hellkite, Lathliss, Dragon Queen, Scourge of Valkas, and Drakuseth, Maw of Flames build an overwhelming aerial presence that eliminates opponents through combat damage across Turns 7 to 9. While the deck possesses strong mana acceleration and independent backup beaters, its reliance on multiple attack steps and minimal defensive interaction leaves it vulnerable to board sweepers and fast combo strategies.
