Commander: Witherbloom, the Balancer

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Golgari creature-midrange deck helmed by Witherbloom, the Balancer, built to flood the board with cheap creatures and then turn that creature count into an affinity discount. The commander itself comes down cheap once the board is wide, and while it stays in play, every instant and sorcery - from Abrupt Decay and Murder to Gruesome Fate - gets cheaper. The primary win is incremental: deathtouch/lifelink attacks, token generation from Izoni, Center of the Web and The Mycotyrant, life-drain payoff from Epicure of Blood, and wide-board mass drain. Late haymakers like Dusk Mangler, Lotleth Giant, and The Coming of Galactus provide the closing burst. There are no infinite combos; the deck is a grind-and-drain attrition strategy that tries to make every creature and spell count.
