Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-red Treasure-centric deck helms Smaug the Magnificent as a relentless dragon that combines haste-based combat with a massive token engine. The primary plan is to flood the board with Treasure tokens, then use Smaug's attack trigger (damage equal to your Treasure count) to snipe opponents directly. The deck layers on additional win conditions through Hellkite Tyrant (20+ artifacts) and Knuckles the Echidna (30+ artifacts), while pingers like Reckless Fireweaver and Ingenious Artillerist turn every artifact entry into incremental damage. A single extra-combat card - Desert Were-Worm - allows Smaug to strike twice in one turn once total attacking power reaches 12. The strategy is highly redundant, with over twenty cards generating Treasure tokens, but critically lacks tutoring, counterspells, or reliable ways to answer hate pieces.
