Deck overview

This competitive Mardu combo deck uses Celes, Rune Knight as a counter-canceling engine and hand sculptor alongside compact reanimation and persist loops. The primary strategy combines Celes with persist creatures like Putrid Goblin or Murderous Redcap and a sacrifice outlet such as Goblin Bombardment or Blasting Station. When a persist creature returns from the graveyard, Celes places a +1/+1 counter on it, which immediately removes the -1/-1 persist counter and enables infinite sacrifice cycles for lethal damage on Turn 3. The deck also features independent win lines through Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward paired with Animate Dead, as well as Underworld Breach storm lines with Grinding Station and Hoarding Broodlord. A dense package of format-defining fast mana, efficient tutors, and proactive protection spells like Grand Abolisher, Silence, and Ranger-Captain of Eos ensures the deck reliably executes its game plan before opponents can establish meaningful interaction.
