Deck overview

This mono-black control and group-slug deck uses Sheoldred, the Apocalypse to convert universal card draw into an asymmetric life drain engine. The strategy focuses on accelerating into Sheoldred by Turn 3 or 4, then deploying forced-draw and wheel permanents such as Teferi's Puzzle Box, Dark Deal, and Seizan, Perverter of Truth. Every card an opponent draws drains 2 life, while every card the pilot draws provides life buffer. Life-loss amplifiers like Bloodletter of Aclazotz and Wound Reflection accelerate the clock, turning routine draws into lethal damage. A suite of black removal spells, edicts, and stax-like deterrents—including Toxic Deluge, Archfiend of Depravity, and Crawlspace—protects the pilot's life total from wide creature boards.
