Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx typal midrange strategy helmed by The Ur-Sphinx. It utilizes the commander's Eminence ability to provide an unconditional one-mana discount to all Sphinx spells from the very start of the game. Supported by a robust suite of artifact ramp, the deck rapidly deploys formidable flying engines like Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign, Defiler of Dreams, and Consecrated Sphinx on Turns 3–4 to generate massive card advantage. On Turns 5–6, it transitions into overwhelming combat pressure, leveraging heavy hitters like Magister Sphinx, Sphinx of the Steel Wind, and combat enhancers such as True Conviction or Akroma's Memorial. A compact, highly efficient suite of low-cost countermagic and exile removal protects the board state and disrupts opposing wins while the deck closes out the game through evasive air superiority by Turn 8.
