Deck overview

This deck is a classic Dimir Zombie tribal and reanimator strategy commanded by The Scarab God. It builds an overwhelming board of Zombie tokens and tribal lords during the early-to-mid game, converting board presence into direct life drain and card selection through its commander's upkeep ability. The list leans into creature recursion with engines like Gravecrawler, Gisa and Geralf, and Rot Hulk, while leveraging death triggers from Undead Augur and Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver to sustain card advantage. While it excels at overwhelming opposing creature boards through asymmetric attrition tools like Grave Pact and Noxious Ghoul, its clock is firmly grounded in fair combat and multi-turn life loss. The deck lacks dedicated tutors and fast mana, meaning it plays a steady, value-oriented game that closes tables around Turn 8.
