Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Rakdos combo and storm list built around Rowan, Scion of War. The strategy focuses on accelerating Rowan into play on Turn 2, expending life totals through painlands, phyrexian mana spells, or direct loss effects, and utilizing Rowan's tap ability to apply massive generic cost reductions to black and red spells. Once discounted, the deck chains massive tutors like Behold the Beyond or Dark Petition into infinite mana and burn loops utilizing Birgi, God of Storytelling and Searing Touch with buyback. Dense fast mana and targeted discard protect the combo turn, aiming for a compact Turn 3 table kill. Its main trade-off is reliance on untapping with Rowan, which leaves a window of vulnerability before the engine takes off.
