Deck overview

This deck is a Jeskai ({U}{R}{W}) Pillowfort and Group Slug control strategy helmed by Captain America, First Avenger. Rather than focusing purely on Voltron equipment lines, the deck establishes layered defensive barriers using Ghostly Prison, Propaganda, and Sphere of Safety to render combat attacks against you prohibitively expensive. Behind these walls, it deploys punishing attrition engines like Manabarbs, Zo-Zu the Punisher, Ankh of Mishra, Price of Glory, and Scrawling Crawler, turning every land tapped, card drawn, and off-turn spell cast into life loss or resource destruction for the table. While Captain America, First Avenger and evasive threats like Kraum, Ludevic's Opus and Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker supply chip combat damage and spot removal via equipment throws, the primary path to victory is grinding opposing life totals to zero through inescapable cumulative slug triggers over multiple turn rotations.
