Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Rakdos kindred and group slug deck commanded by Gev, Scaled Scorch. The primary strategy focuses on deploying low-mana Lizards and noncombat pingers to reliably deal damage to opponents each turn. Gev rewards this aggression by pinging opponents on every Lizard cast and placing additional +1/+1 counters on entering creatures for each opponent who lost life. As the board develops, damage enhancers such as Torbran, Thane of Red Fell, Valley Flamecaller, and Mechanized Warfare amplify small pings into lethal damage bursts. The deck maintains steady card advantage through engines like Fireglass Mentor, Phyrexian Arena, and Laughing Jasper Flint. While the deck excels at consistent board pressure and efficient creature removal, its reliance on permanent-based swarms leaves it vulnerable to mass board wipes and stack-based combo decks.
