Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius Combo-Control list helmed by Kwain, Itinerant Meddler. It uses Kwain's symmetrical card draw to smooth its early land drops and development while turning opposing draws into asymmetrical advantage through cards like Smothering Tithe, Faerie Mastermind, and Archivist of Oghma. The deck controls the board using light taxing enchantments, efficient removal, and free countermagic. Once sufficient mana and protection are in place, it deploys compact win conditions—primarily the Mind Over Matter + Temple Bell infinite mill loop, an Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal infinite untap combo, or Approach of the Second Sun—often protected by Teferi, Time Raveler, Grand Abolisher, or Silence to seal an immediate victory on Turn 5.
