Deck overview

This Izzet deck is commanded by Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph and focuses on turning incidental 1-damage pings into devastating 3-damage strikes. By pairing Ghyrson with low-cost burn spells, cast triggers, and creature enters-the-battlefield effects, the deck converts simple actions into one-sided board wipes and rapid life total depletion. Redundant pingers such as Coruscation Mage, Kessig Flamebreather, and Impact Tremors ensure consistent damage output even if individual cards are answered. The deck also punishes opponent actions through cards like Razorkin Needlehead and Scalding Viper. A compact backup win condition exists in Niv-Mizzet, Parun combined with Curiosity, providing an infinite draw and damage loop. While the deck operates at high synergy and maintains steady card flow, it relies heavily on keeping its commander on the battlefield and remains susceptible to repeated mass creature removal.
