Deck overview

This Sultai deck is helmed by Zaxara, the Exemplary, focusing on leveraging large mana production to cast high-impact X-spells that generate massive Hydra creature tokens. The deck accelerates in the early turns with 1-2 CMC ramp to cast Zaxara on Turn 3 or 4. Once Zaxara is active, every X-spell doubles as a board-presence engine, creating scalable beaters while drawing cards through engines like Garruk's Uprising, Elemental Bond, and Up the Beanstalk. Counter multipliers such as Branching Evolution and Unbound Flourishing rapidly inflate Hydra stats to lethal proportions by Turn 6. The deck also features an infinite mana combo via Freed from the Real on Zaxara, which can fuel game-ending X-draw or life-loss spells. Interaction is flexible and scalable, using modal removal and counterspells to disrupt opposing plans while executing a combat-focused stomp.
