Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger burn and storm deck commanded by Gandalf the Grey. It converts low-cost instants and sorceries into steady card advantage, mana acceleration, and table-wide life loss. The early turns focus on deploying 2-CMC mana rocks and cost reducers like Goblin Electromancer and Stormcatch Mentor. Once Gandalf, Fiery Inscription, or Guttersnipe hit the battlefield, every cantrip and utility spell triggers multiple damage and value triggers. The deck leverages flicker effects such as Essence Flux and Planar Incision to reset Gandalf's modal triggers while dodging opposing spot removal. As the graveyard fills, explosive turns fueled by Mana Geyser, Storm-Kiln Artist, and Thousand-Year Storm generate overwhelming velocity, culminating in a lethal Crackle with Power or a flurry of copied burn spells that finishes all opponents simultaneously.
