Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Zombie tribal strategy led by Varina, Lich Queen. It aims to deploy low-cost Zombies in the early turns, cast Varina on Turn 5, and attack to trigger her card filtering and life gain abilities. The resulting discards fill the graveyard, fueling Varina's ability to create 2/2 Zombie tokens for two mana. As the horde grows, the deck layers in tribal anthems like Diregraf Captain and Bladestitched Skaab, evasion from Eternal Skylord, and aristocrat drain effects from Wayward Servant and Bastion of Remembrance. The primary win condition is closing out games around Turn 10 through wide combat damage and table-wide life drain, punctuated by burst finishers like Gray Merchant of Asphodel. The deck operates at a casual synergy level with low interaction, no infinite combos, and high reliance on creature combat.
