Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Bant aggro strategy that turns low-cost defender creatures into formidable attackers using Arcades, the Strategist. Arcades allows creatures with defender to assign combat damage equal to their toughness and attack freely, while drawing a card whenever a defender enters the battlefield. The mana base and ramp package ensure Arcades lands early, typically on turn 3 or 4. Once established, cheap walls generate massive card velocity and build a wide, highly durable board. High-impact combat cards like Tower Defense, Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive, and Akroma's Will convert high base toughness into overwhelming burst damage. Asymmetric board wipes such as Slaughter the Strong and Fell the Mighty clear opposing threats without harming zero-power defenders. Backup enablers like High Alert and Assault Formation ensure the deck can attack even if Arcades is targeted.
