Format: Commander

Commander: Marchesa, the Black Rose

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Marchesa, the Black Rose builds a Grixis value engine around +1/+1 counters, sacrifice outlets, and end-step recursion. The primary plan is to land Marchesa early, attack to give dethrone counters, then sacrifice those creatures to draw cards, drain life, or trigger death effects while they return each turn. Secondary paths lean on hasty theft spells and big attack steps, using cards like Press into Service and Molten Primordial to steal permanents, then keep them with Marchesa's recursion. Herald of Secret Streams turns the counter-based board into an unblockable army. The deck wins through sustained combat damage and recursive value rather than a compact combo, with commander damage as a natural fallback as Marchesa grows.
