Deck overview

This Abzan deck weaponizes disproportionately high toughness values to overwhelm opponents with immense combat damage. Led by Doran, Besieged by Time, the deck accelerates out low-cost, high-toughness creatures at discounted mana costs. In combat, Doran's trigger grants each creature a massive power and toughness boost equal to the gap between its base stats, transforming defensive walls and cheap beaters into towering threats. The deck features extensive redundancy with classic toughness-assigning effects like Doran, the Siege Tower, Assault Formation, Felothar the Steadfast, and Bedrock Tortoise, ensuring that losing the commander does not halt aggressive momentum. Supported by dense green-based ramp, reliable board-protection spells like Heroic Intervention and Akroma's Will, and devastating burst finishers such as Tower Defense and Triumph of the Hordes, the deck establishes a must-answer lethal clock on Turn 5 and consistently closes out multiplayer games by Turn 6.
