Deck overview

This deck is a focused Golgari Voltron list helmed by Skullbriar, the Walking Grave. The core game plan leverages Skullbriar's unique ability to retain counters across public zones, allowing early combat investments to persist throughout the match. Skullbriar enters on Turn 2 with haste and quickly snowballs into a lethal threat using counter multipliers like Branching Evolution, Hydra's Growth, and Corpsejack Menace. Because Skullbriar must eliminate opponents sequentially via combat damage, the deck incorporates evasive equipment like Trailblazer's Boots and Whispersilk Cloak, alongside sudden burst damage from Tainted Strike and Increasing Savagery. A dense interaction package of cheap spot removal and hexproof protection cards ensures that Skullbriar navigates opposing disruption while maintaining aggressive tempo.
