Commander: The Howling Abomination

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Gruul spellslinger deck built around The Howling Abomination. The primary plan is to cast the commander early, then chain cheap targeting spells to trigger its +2/+2 and 2-damage-to-all ability. Copy engines like Zada, Mirrorwing Dragon, and Leyline of Resonance multiply these triggers, while Storm-Kiln Artist and Runaway Steam-Kin generate mana to keep the chain going. The deck wins by pumping the commander to lethal size and finishing with Chandra's Ignition or storming out Grapeshot. Kediss and Venerated Rotpriest provide alternate damage and poison angles. Zada/Mirrorwing act as a hidden second commander; the deck is a fast goldfish that can kill from a developed board on turn five or six.
