Deck overview

This Boros deck leverages the commander pairing of Baeloth Barrityl, Entertainer and Noble Heritage to establish a controlling forced-combat engine. On Turn 2, Noble Heritage enters the battlefield. When Baeloth is cast on Turn 4 or 5, the Background places two +1/+1 counters on him, immediately turning him into a 4/7 creature. This automatically goads all opposing creatures with power 3 or less. As opponents are forced to attack each other, their creatures perish in combat, generating a steady stream of Treasure tokens for Baeloth's controller. Meanwhile, pillowfort pieces like Ghostly Prison, Norn's Annex, and Authority of the Consuls ensure that any un-goaded threats cannot easily retaliate. The deck shields its board with efficient protection spells like Boros Charm and Vexilus Praetor. As opposing life totals dwindle from mutual combat attrition, Baeloth grows into a massive lethal threat, closing out the game alongside devastating endgame swings from Insurrection or Taunt from the Rampart.
