Deck overview

This mono-white deck focuses on Cloud, Midgar Mercenary to execute a potent Equipment Voltron strategy. Cloud guarantees access to key utility by searching an Equipment directly from the library upon entering the battlefield. Once equipped, his static ability doubles all triggered abilities originating from himself or his gear. The primary game plan deploys Cloud on Turn 2 to fetch Buster Sword, equipping and attacking by Turn 4 to draw cards and cheat high-impact permanents into play. Critical onset arrives on Turn 5 when stacked equipment such as Commander's Plate, Leyline Axe, or Helm of the Host transform Cloud into a lethal threat. Because Cloud must eliminate opponents sequentially through single-target combat, the deck requires three response cycles to close the game on Turn 8. Defensive equipment tutored directly from the library shields Cloud from most targeted interaction, while minor stax pieces slow down aggressive opposing strategies.
