Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius control strategy built around Elminster. It controls the game tempo using Rule of Law stax pieces, mass sweepers, and flexible counterspells. Because planeswalker loyalty abilities do not count as casting spells, Elminster breaks parity on spell-limiting effects. The deck sets up high-mana-value spells like Storm Herd, Dig Through Time, and Vanquish the Horde on top of the library using scry triggers and top-deck manipulation like Brainstorm and Brainsurge. Elminster's -3 ability exiles these high-cost spells to generate large swarms of 1/1 flying Faerie Dragons. Anthems like Gravitational Shift, Favorable Winds, and Divine Visitation scale these tokens into a lethal air force. While the deck lacks fast mana acceleration and requires multiple turns to close out combat, its dense interaction package and asymmetric stax pieces allow it to grind down faster opponents.
