Deck overview

This deck is a Jund landfall and sacrifice midrange strategy commanded by Szarel, Genesis Shepherd. The primary game plan develops mana using standard 2-3 CMC ramp and self-sacrificing lands like Evolving Wilds and Wooded Foothills. Once Szarel enters on Turn 5, it unlocks land recursion from the graveyard, converting sacrificed nontoken permanents into +1/+1 counters. On Turn 6, the deck converts this mana and land flow into wide board states using token engines such as Scute Swarm, Rampaging Baloths, or Sapling Nursery. It finishes the game on Turn 7 through overwhelming combat damage, trample, or Triumph of the Hordes. The deck operates smoothly within its internal synergy but carries minimal instant-speed interaction and plan shielding, making it reliant on outvaluing opponents on the board rather than disrupting fast combo strategies.
