Deck overview

This Orzhov deck combines lifegain attrition, board control, and infinite combo finishes. Helmed by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel, the deck converts lifegain into explosive card advantage by paying life whenever you gain life, ensuring a full hand of answers and combo pieces. Early turns focus on establishing mana ramp and passive drain pieces such as Soul Warden, Authority of the Consuls, and Kambal, Consul of Allocation to maintain a healthy life buffer while taxing opponents. The primary path to victory is an infinite life-drain loop pairing Bloodthirsty Conqueror with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Sanguine Bond, or Enduring Tenacity. Alternate win conditions include looping Approach of the Second Sun via commander card draw or generating massive mana through Crypt Ghast and Cabal Coffers into Exsanguinate and Debt to the Deathless. With robust removal like Farewell and Anguished Unmaking, the deck controls the tempo of the game before executing a same-turn kill.
