Deck overview

This deck is a resilient Grixis reanimator and midrange value engine led by Sauron, the Dark Lord. The primary strategy focuses on early card filtering and graveyard setup to cheat massive, game-dominating creatures like Valgavoth, Terror Eater, Nezahal, Primal Tide, and Sphinx of the Second Sun into play on turns 3 and 4 using efficient spells like Reanimate and Animate Dead. Concurrently, casting the commander turns every opposing spell into Orc Army growth, while combat connections trigger the Ring tempting mechanic to discard low-value hands and draw four fresh cards each turn. The deck finishes games through commanding combat damage and continuous life drain, while maintaining a compact infinite damage combo in Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin and Casey Jones, Back Alley Brute. Supported by robust instant-speed interaction and taxing ward abilities, the deck presents high threat density and swift recovery against removal.
