Deck overview

This is a Rakdos Treasure/artifact-sacrifice deck helmed by Smaug the Impenetrable, built to generate overwhelming numbers of Treasure tokens and convert them into mana and damage. Smaug's ability - creating Treasures whenever he's dealt noncombat damage - turns the deck's damage-redirection and ping effects into a treasure engine. The primary win is a drain/burn finish: sacrifice a critical mass of Treasures with Mayhem Devil, Marionette Apprentice, Disciple of the Vault, Mirkwood Bats, and Nadier's Nightblade on board, or sink treasure mana into Crackle with Power/Comet Storm with Dictate of the Twin Gods doubling. Hellkite Tyrant offers an alternate 20-artifact win. The commander is a powerful accelerator but not strictly required - the deck's redundancy keeps it functional.
