Dethrone by Spratte93

Format: Commander

Commander: Marchesa, the Black Rose

Bracket: 3

DeckCheck Threat Index: 32

Deck overview

This deck leverages Marchesa, the Black Rose to establish a resilient, recursive creature engine centered on +1/+1 counters. By triggering Dethrone and utilizing targeted counter enablers like Unspeakable Symbol and The Ozolith, the deck ensures that its creatures return to the battlefield at each end step whenever they die. The game plan focuses on establishing Marchesa on Turn 4, deploying value creatures and counter generators on Turn 5, and pivoting into lethal combat threats on Turn 6 with cards like Herald of Secret Streams, Uncivil Unrest, and All Will Be One. Strong reactive interaction, including Glen Elendra Archmage and Toxic Deluge, disrupts opposing game plans while preserving your recursive board state. The deck finishes games through unblockable combat damage and infect pressure from Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon around Turn 8.
