Deck overview

This Golgari deck is commanded by Shelob, Child of Ungoliant, focusing on controlling the battlefield through Spider tribal synergies and deathtouch weaponization. The strategy accelerates through cheap mana dorks and ramp spells into an early Shelob deployment. Once Shelob is on the battlefield, bite spells and ping equipment like Viridian Longbow and Thornbite Staff allow any Spider to kill opposing creatures on contact, stealing them as Food artifact tokens. This creates an oppressive creature control engine that grinds opponents out of resources while amassing an army of Spiders and utility tokens. The deck secures victory through token-based drain effects such as Mirkwood Bats and Rotwidow Pack, or wide combat finishes empowered by Beastmaster Ascension, Fynn, the Fangbearer, and Finale of Devastation. Strong Golgari interaction and protective instants ensure resilient execution.
