Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Doctor Doom, King of Latveria leads a Grixis Villain-tribal deck that converts connive and discard triggers into card flow, life drain, and a wide evasive board. Baron Strucker, HYDRA Overlord acts as the hidden commander: with Tombstone, Career Criminal, he makes Villain spells cheap enough to chain. Doom's combat trigger gives the best Villain menace and a connive; discarding lands pings all opponents, while Moonstone keeps discarded nonlands castable. Red Ghost and Ultron turn the second draw and every connive into hasty Apes and Robot tokens; Glorious Purpose and Construct a Cosmic Cube build toward free spells and a controlled turn. The Squadron Sinister supplies the usual finishing buff. Dense counterspells and removal let the deck survive to the midgame.
