Deck overview

This is a Simic Merfolk tribal deck helmed by Hakbal of the Surging Soul, built around the explore mechanic to generate a wide, well-statted board of Merfolk while drawing cards and ramping lands. The primary game plan is to deploy a critical mass of cheap Merfolk, amplify their power through +1/+1 counters, and win through unblockable combat damage enabled by Herald of Secret Streams or islandwalk from Master of the Pearl Trident. Token generation from Deeproot Waters, Deeproot Pilgrimage, and Doubling Season provides both board presence and sacrifice fodder for Wanderwine Prophets' extra-turn loop. A secondary win condition exists in Simic Ascendancy, aiming to stock 20 growth counters through the deck's heavy counter generation.
