Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Dragon tribal and Treasure-centric combo-midrange build commanded by Smaug the Impenetrable. The primary strategy focuses on ramping into Smaug's seven-mana cost, then exploiting his innate indestructible keyword and damage trigger using asymmetric burn spells like Blasphemous Act, Star of Extinction, and Pyrohemia. Dealing noncombat damage to Smaug creates dozens of Treasure tokens in a single turn. The deck translates this sudden wealth into immediate table eliminations using artifact-entry pingers like Reckless Fireweaver and Marionette Apprentice, upkeep win conditions like Revel in Riches, or massive token swarms via Draconic Visitor. Backed by high-end Dragon threats such as Terror of the Peaks and Goldspan Dragon, the list maintains formidable backup lines. While highly resilient against destroy-based removal, it is susceptible to exile-based interaction, artifact shutdown effects, and fast combo decks due to a lack of instant-speed stack interaction.
