Deck overview

This is a Dimir Rat-tribal deck built around Vren, the Relentless, who transforms creature death into a relentless rat army. The primary game plan is to control the board with sacrifice effects, spot removal, and counterspells while exiling opponents' creatures to trigger Vren's end-step token generation. The rats are then amplified by lords like Marrow-Gnawer, Karumonix, the Rat King, and Piper of the Swarm, and pushed through for lethal damage with Cover of Darkness or Open into Wonder. The deck also includes a modest draw suite (Phyrexian Arena, Kindred Discovery) and a handful of tutors to find key pieces. It wins through incremental combat pressure rather than combos, relying on the commander's explosive token production to turn the corner.
