Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius spellslinger control build led by Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper. It focuses on turning instant and sorcery spells into board presence by placing +1/+1 counters onto lands, transforming them into large Elemental creatures with haste. The game plan balances reactive permission, card draw, and removal to control the flow of the game while simultaneously advancing the power of animated lands. Darksteel Citadel provides an indestructible target that mitigates vulnerability to sweepers, while support cards like Abzan Falconer grant flying to bypass blockers. The deck features a solid interaction package capable of disrupting fast combos and creature strategies, though its clock relies on combat damage across multiple attack steps. Without dedicated tutors or infinite combos, the list operates as a resilient, synergistic, mid-power control deck that wins through accumulated combat pressure and spellslinger value.
