Deck overview

This deck is a specialized 5-color Spellslinger and Storm deck designed around the Prepare mechanic, helmed by Codie, Ravenous Codex. The primary strategy focuses on deploying efficient creatures with prepare spells in the early turns, establishing Codie on Turn 3, and using Codie's spell-doubling capability on Turn 4 to gain massive card and mana velocity. By Turn 5, the deck leverages Magecraft powerhouses such as Storm-Kiln Artist, Archmage Emeritus, and Deekah, Fractal Theorist alongside Codie's {W}{U}{B}{R}{G} reprepare activation to storm through duplicate spells. This floods the battlefield with massive Fractal tokens, Shark tokens, and Spirit tokens while draining life totals with Extus, Oriq Overlord // Awaken the Blood Avatar. Protected by efficient spells like Silence, Veil of Summer, and Dawn's Truce, the deck closes the game on Turn 6 via wide, unblockable, or flying combat damage.
