Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black kindred strategy centered on Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm and a critical mass of 27 copies of Relentless Rats. The core game plan establishes early mana acceleration to deploy waves of identical Rats that scale in power and toughness exponentially. Ashcoat acts as both an anthem engine and an end-step card advantage engine, milling cards and recovering two Rats per cycle to ensure your hand never depletes. Mid-game turns leverage explosive ceiling cards like Thrumming Stone to ripple through the entire library or Marrow-Gnawer equipped with Thornbite Staff to generate an infinite swarm of Rats. Board wipes are mitigated by powerful kindred mass reanimation effects such as Patriarch's Bidding and Bloodline Bidding. While light on instant-speed interaction and stack defense, the deck exerts overwhelming combat lethality against unprepared tables.
